The School of Applied Psychology currently has 50+ academic staff and multiple research fellows across three campuses (Mount Gravatt, Gold Coast and South Bank), whose teaching and research interests span counselling, suicidology, health services management, and psychology areas encompassing clinical, social, developmental, cognitive, forensic, health, organisational, and experimental domains.
Job Description
The Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration involves road safety collaborative projects with industry, government and other road safety stakeholders. This role involves working as part of a research team to successfully gather vital work within the domain of fleet safety which includes both light and heavy vehicles as well as research in motorcycle safety.
The Research Assistant position provides major support in field-based research and laboratory work within traffic psychology, road safety behaviours and relevant research duties such as data collection, data storage, data analysis, reports and scholarly articles that the team may require. This role will also provide administrative assistance to the Principal Research Fellow and senior staff members of the MAIC Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration as well as supporting the research group activities, field work and laboratory training.
This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) position. The role is based at Griffith University Mt Gravatt campus; however, the successful candidate will be expected to do some teaching and/or other work as directed at other Griffith University campuses. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role.
We are also open for the role to be a job share arrangement at 50% part time basis.
