The Department of Urology is a seeking a full time Research Assistant to help with the execution of research operations to meet the mission and goals of the program/project assigned. In this role you will assists with the development and production of deliverables including presentations, website, social media content, communications, and other materials.

Duties included the following:

• Research Management
• Plan and carry out chart review and data extraction.
• Understand experimental design and goals of study.
• Record experiments and results in an accurate and timely way.
• Enroll patients in IRB approved trials and handle bio specimens from patients.
• Must be capable of conducting multiple experiments in close temporal proximity.
• Perform calculations and statistical analysis necessary for interpretation of experimental results.
• Review data with PI once per week and attend monthly research group meetings.
• Make data readily available to the PI for the purpose of preparing manuscripts.
• Other duties, as assigned.
• Manuscript preparation.
• Organize and write multiple manuscripts for peer reviewed journals.
• Assist PI in manuscript presentation for peer reviewed and popular journals.

Please note that this contract position may convert to career.
Pay Range: $26.10 - $49.38 hourly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal skills to work with teams.
• Demonstrated writing skills to produce wide range of documents and deliverables.
• Experience communicating effectively and professionally and working with a variety of internal and external partners, including UCLA administrators, outside funders, policy makers and community representatives.
• Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals.
• Working knowledge of program/project development, evaluation, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission, University procedures and policies, program/project related federal and state regulations.
• Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and software to advance the mission of the program/project.
• Ability to train new program/project managers and other staff within and external to the unit.
