The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) is one of six academic units in the Faculty of Engineering. QUALIFICATIONS:

Applications are preferred to have background with one or more of the following fields: transportation, business, electrical and computer engineering, marketing or related discipline.

THE INCUMBENT SHOULD HAVE THE PREFERED FOLLOWING SKILLS, ABILITIES AND INTERESTS:

  • Interests in transportation, emerging technology and/or big data analyses
  • Solid skills in digital tools and intelligent business solutions for project dissemination and promotions
  • Experience in one or more of the following topics:(1) temporal-spatial data analysis (2) digital strategy and demand analyses
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research
  • Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy

  • Technical report and manuscript editing and formatting, assistant in conference papers and technical reports. -

  • Ability to work in person, independently, and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals

  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document technical information

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Preferably recent graduates within 2 years.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical field

Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant will assist with ONE or MORE of the following tasks in promoting and disseminating transportation research outcomes and applications:

  • Research literature review on the development and impacts of the above disruptive technologies on transportation and smart city areas; technical report and manuscript editing and formatting.
  • Disseminating and Analyzing research outcomes and impacts for different stakeholders; support and initiate the workshops, seminars and research community knowledge mobilization.
  • Designing and digitalizing research outcomes, project website and technical report
