Experience:
- 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical fiel
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Fluency in French, both written and oral, required
- Expertise in conducting academic education research (creating survey tools, data collection, data analysis/coding, knowledge mobilization)
- Ability to conduct in-depth literature reviews and jurisdictional scans in both French and English
- Understanding of Ontario university ecosphere is important
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research
- Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis
- Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities:
The French-language Research Assistant will review FSL Teacher Education admissions processes across Ontario in an attempt to increase high-quality recruitment. The role will include conducting in-depth literature reviews and jurisdictional scans in both French and English, providing summaries, creating survey tools as needed, liaising with university stakeholders and school board administrators, and data collection in order to identify potential obstacles and/or inequities. The incumbent may also be expected to support knowledge mobilization in terms of conference abstracts and presentations, manuscript proposals, and more. They will be expected to analyze/evaluate final data findings in order to prepare targeted suggestions for change based on concrete evidence.
