THE OPPORTUNITY
The Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based professional with a focus on supporting investigative biomarker discovery efforts. The successful candidate will have a robust background in the life sciences and proficiency in implementing scalable targeted, high-plex, and untargeted protein assays. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, interacting with colleagues within the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform to implement and execute experimental paradigms to advance biomarker identification and validation efforts. You will also participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- You will implement and execute both targeted (mid- and high-plex) and untargeted protein assays to enable investigative biomarker discovery studies in liquid biopsies, in vitro model systems and tissues;
- You will support multiple collaborations across therapeutic disease areas by generating, and analyzing biomarker discovery and validation experiments, contribute to the delivery of project reports, and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;
- You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to contribute to general laboratory operations within the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform; including instrument maintenance, experimental troubleshooting, as well as the evaluation of new technologies;
- You embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/approaches in the biomarker discovery field.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a BS or MS degree in biochemistry, chemistry or a related field, with experience in the discovery and/or validation of biomarkers, preferably within either the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry;
- You have proven hands-on expertise in the implementation and execution of various biochemical sample preparation workflows. You also demonstrate high competency in the operation of LC-MS systems and are familiar with targeted and untargeted workflows. Familiarity with non-MS based technologies (e.g. NULISA, Olink) will be considered a plus;
- You are familiar with the processing, analysis and interpretation of MS- and ideally also non-MS-based datastreams.
In addition to your scientific expertise and critical technical skills we are looking for candidates who are:
- Customer-focused with a drive for growth and a questioning mindset. Skilled in creative problem-solving, organization, and implementing innovative ideas efficiently in a fast-paced research context;
- Excellent communicators with a high fluency in English, a desire to continuously build a personal network and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development.
