We are looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join Lead Discovery, a department within Small Molecule Research (SMR). You will be embedded in a highly cross-functional drug discovery industry environment where you will establish and employ biophysical and biochemical assays to drug discovery projects for neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and related proteinopathies.

We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Research Associate to work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists dedicated to initiating and implementing novel drug discovery projects, and to jointly shape our future portfolio as a member of a broad network of drug discovery specialists

Your impact

  • You design, develop and perform biophysical and biochemical assays to characterize the interaction of antibodies, peptides, small molecules or other molecular entities with proteins or protein aggregates.
  • You apply biophysical technologies such as Surface Plasmon Resonance or Biolayer Interferometry to study proteins, protein complexes or aggregates;
  • You scout and implement new technologies
  • You nurture trustful relationships and effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.

Who you are

  • You have completed an apprenticeship or have a bachelor/master degree in biophysics, biochemistry or a relevant life science field. You bring interest and expertise in automation, data analysis, and the application of a large spectrum of technologies in biophysical and biochemical assays. As a dedicated individual with a focus on wet-lab work you use your thorough understanding of the requirements for early drug discovery projects to develop specific assays for lead identification to lead optimization.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development. You have a keen interest in continuously building a personal network. You are resourceful and flexible in problem solving and in working in a collaborative and inclusive manner. You have a sense for ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times.You have strong oral and written communication skills and are proficient in working with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
