Description:

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher (or PhD student close to completion), to drive forward and support the engine research work at Nottingham. You must have significant prior experience of experimental and analytical low carbon IC engine combustion research (both fundamental and applied), with an established track record of high impact outputs.
You should be a self-starting individual with a good mix of practical engine laboratory skills coupled with in-depth understanding of advanced fuels and IC engine operation. Significant prior experience of low/zero carbon fuels and clean combustion modes in both thermodynamic and optical engines is essential. You should also have a successful track record of multidisciplinary research with both industry and academic partners, with a willingness to work in new technical areas related to the programme and parallel projects.
Prior direct experience of successful PhD student co-supervision is desirable. The successful candidate will be dynamic, well organised and will have a positive attitude in working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally, sometimes on challenging and complex multidisciplinary issues.
