Description:

The Tritech Institute and Innovation division (part of the Research and Innovation Department at Hywel Dda University Health Board) aims to support the development and evaluation of innovative solutions in healthcare (both technologies and more general innovations). Tritech has a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, scientists and engineers who have a track record of working with companies, academics and innovators to support investigations and evaluations to contribute to benefits for patients, staff and the wider health economy.
The Research and Innovation Associate will be an important member of the team, housed within dedicated facilities, and will be expected to work without supervision. The post holder will be expected to manage a diverse portfolio of work that will include a wide range of different projects. The post holder will work across the health sector liaising and working with people from industry academia, health and the general public. The research and innovation associate will lead on individual projects within the Tritech Institute and innovation portfolio and will be expected to manage and supervise junior members of the team in the delivery of these projects.
As a senior member of the Tritech Institute and Innovation team, the Research & Innovation Associate main duties will include:
Provide specialist advice to industry partners and healthcare professionals about the design, approvals and conduct of clinical investigations;
Develop and support research and innovation studies on behalf of internal and external partners to support the development of research and innovation;
Prepare funding bids and collaborations to enable the conduct of clinical investigations;
Promote the delivery of the Research Development and Innovation strategy and notably those objectives linked directly to the Tritech department;
Contribute to the key performance indicators applying to the research and development department.
Lead on the delivery of specific projects, managing and supervising the junior members of the team in achieving the agreed project objectives.
Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest.
Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.
Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).

COMMUNITY FACILITIES, INCLUDING:

48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
