Responsibilities:

  • Performs multistep bioconjugation experiments to generate antibody and protein conjugates (milligram to gram scales) for in vitro and in vivo evaluation.
  • Applies modern analytical techniques to characterize the biophysical properties and stability of proteins and protein-conjugates.
  • Proposes and executes technology development efforts to advance techniques related to antibody drug conjugate (ADC) design, preparation and characterization.
  • Documents raw and analyzed data. Collaborates with colleagues to interpret results and design follow-up experiments.
  • Prepares written reports for internal and external use; makes presentations to team and department regularly.
  • Seeks to understand ongoing developments and innovations in ADCs through attention to scientific literature and internally generated data.
  • Adheres to Zymeworks standard procedures for generating, documenting, and archiving data, maintaining an accurate, up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and operational lab.
  • Conducts all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OS&H regulations and established Zymeworks’ policies and practices.
  • Actively works to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships across the organization.
