YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO…

  • Culture and treat mammalian cell lines.
  • Perform sterile technique in Tissue Culture, including culturing and passaging cell lines.
  • Preparing high quality paraffin-embedded cell pellets to facilitate IHC testing.
  • Conducting scientific experiments including western blots to verify treatment efficacy.
  • Preparing paraffin-embedded animal tissues, syngeneic tumors and xenografts in conjunction with the Animal Facility staff.
  • Maintaining the inventory of paraffin-embedded human tissues, including sample logging and management of associated clinical data, when applicable.
  • Meeting established service level agreements for delivery of all paraffin- embedded materials.
  • Maintaining tissue processing and embedding equipment per established policies.
  • Supporting the execution of IHC testing as appropriate opportunities arise.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete laboratory documentation in appropriate systems and testing databases in accordance with CST quality systems requirements.
  • Developing an understanding of the antibody development process and maintaining an awareness of such as changes are implemented.
  • Understanding and following established protocols for all established group processes and procedures as detailed in SOPs and training documents.
  • Seeking opportunities that will improve quality, efficiency, or scalability of cell culture and other team processes.
  • Routine cleaning and stocking of the Tissue Culture room and biosafety cabinet.
  • Adhering to safety procedures in and around the laboratory.

Responsibilities:

The Immunohistochemistry team is growing, and we are looking for a highly motivated Research Associate I who is passionate about contributing to a team building a portfolio of best-in-class IHC validated antibodies to enable cutting edge research around the world. A successful applicant will have the opportunity to produce high quality formalin fixed, paraffin embedded cell and tissue based models in support of antibody validation and optimization. They will have the opportunity to gain expertise in histological procedures, mammalian cell culture, and western blot while working cross functionally with a number of groups around the building.
