This is an onsite 6 month temporary assignment.
Summary and Scope of Position:
Support execution of GLP and research virology studies evaluating a variety of different human and non-human pathogens in human blood products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute experiments, either independently or as a team member, including experiments for product claims and regulatory submissions
- Work with various pathogenic viruses in BSL-2+ environments
- Prepare and manipulate various blood products, including plasma, platelets and red blood cells
- Grow and maintain various cultured cells, propagate viruses and media preparation
- Preform and appropriately document GLP and notebook studies
- Make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results
- Maintain lab instruments
- Document work in a laboratory notebook in an accurate and timely manner
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Experience with cell or molecular biology.
- Experience working with pathogenic viruses, desirable.
- Experience with cell culture, desirable.
- Experience working with human blood products, desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with GLP or other regulated environments, desirable.
- Experience with word processing and spreadsheets.
- Good analytical skills: problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal, listening).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Time management (schedules, timelines, task prioritization).
- Excellent problem-solving skills; solution oriented.
