Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
A Research Associate is required to work in the Endocrinology Section of the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction based at the Hammersmith Hospital Campus. The post is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) to work within a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of Professor Kevin Murphy. The post has a broad remit but will primarily focus on investigating the effects of obesity in the gastrointestinal tract and how this influences wider metabolic health. The laboratory and research team form a diverse and welcoming environment, and the post holder will be encouraged and supported to publish and present their work and to carry out career development activities.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
The post holder will assist with directing the work of small research teams and take the initiative in the planning and execution of research studies, while identifying and developing suitable techniques and apparatus for the collection and analysis of data. The post holder will ensure the validity and reliability of data and maintain accurate and complete records of findings, with which they will write reports for submission to research sponsors.
