Description:

YOU SHOULD APPLY IF

You are in the process of completing or have completed a PhD in Economics, with a specialisation in microeconometrics and causal inference. You also have experience in software development.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are advertising for a part-time 3-year Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position.
The PDRA will join an ERC project (UKRI funded) on policy and treatment evaluation on a part-time basis (50%). The PDRA will have expertise in econometrics, statistics and data science, preferably with a background in microeconometric theory, nonparametric analysis, and causal inference.
The ERC project, entitled “POTEMU: Policy and Treatment Evaluation under Model Uncertainty”, seeks to extend the scope of existing statistical methods for policy and treatment evaluation by allowing for model misspecification. A central aspect of the project will be to develop estimation methods and software for distributional policy and treatment effects.
Interested candidates may also wish to consider applying for a UCL hosted Leverhulme project “Transforming the estimation of dynamic discrete choice models”, also on a 50% basis. This project is led by Professor Dennis Kristensen. .

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The post holder will be involved with various parts of the project, and help:

  • Write literature reviews of research on topics relevant to the project.
  • Develop software (R, python) and visualisation tools for estimation methods used and developed in the project.
  • Identify and manage relevant datasets used for empirical applications in the project.
  • Provide support with simulations and data analysis.
  • Contribute to the management and development of team activities.
  • Coordinate and convene meetings of academic collaborators and work with the project team to expand the scope of the project’s methods.
