360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
Operating as an integrated ecosystem, the 360 Lab environment will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing and learning experiences in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.
We are currently recruiting scientific professionals with varied backgrounds in Flow Cytometry, Genomics, Proteomics, Histopathology and Microscopy / Imaging. Job Mission and Impact
The Genomics Core Technology Platform within the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to expand its team with experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric Research Associates. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about utilizing both bulk and/or single-cell Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies in early drug discovery projects. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in the life sciences and demonstrated technical and scientific expertise in advanced bulk and/or single-cell NGS methodologies. You will work with urgency as part of a matrix team, collaborating with experts across various therapeutic disease areas and functions to drive drug discovery projects forward. Additionally, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the Genomics Core Technology Platform within the pRED organization.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • You will plan, design and execute experiments, to develop, optimize and validate both routine and customized bulk and/or single cell NGS approaches, as well as identifying and resolving technical challenges associated with diverse NGS workflows;
  • You will ensure the continued production of high-quality research data by performing regular quality control of NGS data and troubleshooting of related NGS instrumentation;
  • You will embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies /approaches in the genomics field.

Your Profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of professional experience focused on bulk and/or single-cell NGS methods, ideally within a genomics core facility, either in the pharmaceutical industry or academia.
  • You possess proven, hands-on practical experience in carrying out diverse NGS workflows, including, but not limited to, single-cell dissociation, RNA/DNA extraction, library preparation, and sequencing. Candidates with expertise with 10X Genomics 3’, 5’, and FLEX technologies, as well as in the operation of NGS platforms, both Illumina and Oxford Nanopore, are highly desired;
  • You are familiar with the software, tools and resources commonly used for quality control, storage and analysis of NGS data.

  • Are resourceful and flexible in problem solving, have excellent organizational skills, and are able to work in a matrix environment with a sense of urgency in a fair, open and collaborative manner, ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times;
  • Can think outside the box and work in diverse, multicultural, global teams, with a demonstrated ability to implement new ideas in fast-paced research environments
  • Bring excellent written communication and presentation skills with a high fluency in English.
