About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the labs of Dr Caroline Vance and Dr Marc-David Ruepp to work on an MND Association funded project to explore the role of the ALS-related protein FUS and its function at the synapse. Led by Caroline Vance, this project will utilise a range of iPSC models to investigate how mutations and physiological aspects of FUS itself affect synaptic vesicle biology and synaptic maintenance. You will join a multidisciplinary team on the Denmark Hill Campus with a leading role in:
Designing and performing experiments
Developing technical advances
Performing data analysis
Presenting the results internally as well as externally
Writing up manuscripts to be submitted to peer-review journals
Post holders will also be given opportunities to work closely with a broad range of other scientists across the department.
King’s College also encourages continued professional development of its staff through both internal and external educational courses covering skills such as project, financial or time management and communication, as well as scientific topics.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 30th September 2027.
