Our R&D team develops innovative biobased solutions using microbial cell factories and enzymes in the areas of fragrance, home & personal care, food & beverage, animal health, and more.
We are looking for a highly motivated and outstanding associate level scientists (BS or BA) to become part of an existing core of experienced scientists working on projects that involve the use of enzymes and microbes to perform bioconversions. This position is based in Wilmington, DE and will support projects focusing on bioconversion, biocatalysis, and product development. Candidates must have proven experience and a foundation in biocatalysis, bacterial or fungal physiology, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry. Familiarity with enzyme catalysis, bioconversion, automation, and bioinformatics is desirable. This will be a predominantly lab-based role.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project-related workstreams leveraging modern bioconversion/biocatalysis, molecular biology, physiology, and microbial fermentation techniques. Support optimization, analysis and improvement of bioconversion/biocatalysis leads based on project direction and data.
  • Design and execute high-throughput screening assays for enzyme and microbial libraries.
  • Carry out work that requires collaboration with others as part of a project team to deliver on project goals.
  • Carry out project work as directed by project leader.
  • Explore and implement new methods and technologies with project team.
  • Generate and effectively communicate data.
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries, presentations, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documents.
  • Understanding of basic scientific principles of molecular and cell biology.
