About Us
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Developmental Physiology Group in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, currently based at the Francis Crick Institute. The group studies genetic and environmental causes of pregnancy complications, and lifelong effects of an adverse early life environment for the offspring. Our lab integrates mouse genetics, epigenetics, maternal physiology and metabolomics to try to understand programming phenomena at multiple levels.
About the role
The post-holder will lead new research as part of an EU collaborative grant: Home - HYPIEND ‘Understanding and preventing the impact of endocrine disruptors in sensitive populations’. They will build tools to understand how harmful environmental chemicals can cross the placental barrier during pregnancy, using both in-vitro and in-vivo models. The group has generated novel genetic models that allow separation of diverse placental cell types. The post holder will build on these techniques help understand the impact EDC exposure in pregnant women, using a combination of cell culture, immunohistochemistry, in-vivo physiology and genetic cell labelling approaches.
This is a part time post (21 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 30/11/2026.
