Position Summary:
Executive Director for the Quebec Network Environment for Indigenous Health Research. Coordinates the Operations Circle and the QcNEIHR activities.
- Leads the development of a strategy and action plan to ensure regional research capacity needs are equitably addressed during the QcNEIHR 2024-2029 Funding Phase.
- Leads the research network operations team to building relationships for the Network with Indigenous communities, Indigenous serving organizations, and academic institutions in Quebec.
- Overseeing the QcNEIHR finances and the funds held at McGill and at KSDPP, including annual budget forecasts, monthly and annual reporting, expense reports, and university fund transfers.
- Develops a liaison model for facilitating university and community research relationships, and leads the hiring of 1 liaison position at McGill
- Liaises with the DNA to RNA: An Inclusive Canadian Approach to Genomic-based RNA Therapeutics (D2R) Project and the QcNEIHR to coordinate the collaborations with D2R
- Co-designs the regional consultation for the co-development of capacity enhancement activities of the network to 2029 with the research coordinator
- Supervises the research network coordinator, research agent, Indigenous Student and Learner Support Lead, research assistants and interns responsible for proposing research designs and capacity enhancement tools of the QcNEIHR, including performance reviews and human resources coordination
- Participates in National NEIHR meetings with the NPA
- Works with the Network Advisory Circle (NAC) and ensures support is provided for regular meetings and NAC follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience conducting research within Indigenous community-university research partnerships.
- Experience with CIHR Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health and their operational grants, peer review and governance.
- Experience in developing research approaches that build the capacity of Academic and Community researchers
