The Quantitative Methods in Economics Group at the Landau Campus is looking for a PhD student or Postdoc - depending on the applicants qualification. The research focus of this group is in applied microeconomics and behavioral economics. Using a broad range of cutting-edge empirical methods, we investigate how people make decisions regarding education, health, and labor markets, how these decisions affect their lives, and how targeted policy interventions can be used to enhance economic and social participation.
Teaching responsibilities of the group include courses in statistics, the analysis of large datasets, and the evaluation of economic policy measures using experimental and quasi-experimental methods.

  • Application as Postdoc: A successfully completed Ph.D. in economics, statistics, psychology, or related fields, or close to submitting the dissertation.
  • Affinity for data and a desire to quantify everyday phenomena. Enthusiasm for academic work and empirical research.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and applied microeconometrics, ideally with initial experience in empirical analysis and knowledge of common statistical software such as Stata, R, or Python. Ability to work independently, structured, and results-oriented.
  • Motivation to acquire new skills.
  • High commitment and enjoyment of teamwork. Proficiency in English or German (fluent in at least one of these languages).
