Description:
This individual will be responsible for assisting with multiple aspects of a new study examining the effects of cannabis on sleep, circadian rhythms, and light sensitivity in young people. This study is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and is being conducted in the Center for Sleep and Circadian Science (CSCS) at the University of Pittsburgh.
The Reach Associate will work closely with the study coordinator, other research staff, and the data manager, as well as with the staff of the Sleep and Behavioral Neuroscience Center.
Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the study coordinator, will be responsible for multiple aspects of recruitment including: posting flyers, initial telephone screening of participants, scheduling participants for in-person eligibility evaluations, and guiding them through screening/baseline interview visits.
- Instruct participants on completion of web-based questionnaires in the ambulatory assessment protocol, use of the wrist actigraph, and use of the sleep EEG headband.
- Meeting participants and escorting them to their appointments, touring them through the Sleep and Behavioral Neuroscience Center.
- Assisting with participant visits, such as monitoring participants and assisting in data collection during overnight visits to the Sleep and Behavioral Neuroscience Center
- Assist in any necessary data entry.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to ensure adequate numbers of assessments as outlined in the protocol.
- Performs other research duties as assigned.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Bachelors degree required preferably in Psychology or related field.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
- Ability to work evenings.
