REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*
Educational qualification
- Bachelor’s degree, graduate student or master’s degree in public health, psychology, sociology or related field.
- Prior health-related or research experience with demonstrated interest in qualitative work.
- Experience working on qualitative projects and project management.
Technical Skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite, Qualtrics, and REDCap.
- Experience in qualitative data analysis, preferably using Dedoose and/or Nvivo.
- Familiarity with EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero as reference management softwarer applications.
Interpersonal Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills; high attention to detail; demonstrated proactive behavior and is solution-focused.
- Organized, effective, and timely communication with the study team and others via email and/or phone.
- Ability and commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS*
- Experience in qualitative data coding, use of coding software similar to Dedoose or Nvivo, and medical or scientific writing through first or co-authored publications are strongly desired.
- PEERRS or CITI Human Subjects’ Protection Certification.
- Working knowledge of University of Michigan Policies and Procedures.
The CHIPPER (Clinic-based HIV Identification and Prevention Project using Electronic Resources) team within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Research Assistant with qualitative data analysis and project management skills. The Research Assistant will assist the project and study team in:
- Coding and analysis of qualitative data, such as transcripts of audio-recorded in-depth interviews and focus group discussions using a qualitative data analysis software.
- Managing the data analysis activities by actively monitoring coding assignments, completion status, follow-ups, and troubleshooting issues.
- Performing literature reviews.
- Assisting in the preparation of manuscript drafts for peer-reviewed journals.
- Other CHIPPER or project tasks as assigned
