JOB SUMMARY

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing is seeking a highly-qualified faculty member for a Research Assistant Professor position within the Department of Systems, Population and Leadership in the Healthy Lifetime Program. We are looking for a highly productive faculty member who is energized about their science. This position will be a part-time 12-month appointment.
The Healthy Lifetime Program (HL) is a business entity within the University of Michigan School of Nursing that provides top-class services to older adults to support optimum health and independence in aging. The program is completely virtual including the continuing education of nurses who provide the services and as such, is not bound to geographic locations for service provision. The business offers `direct to consumer’ programming that integrates School of Nursing faculty as providers and students as learners to fulfill curricular requirements. The HL program also contracts with other business entities to support their use of the program through licensing and other contractual agreements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • A doctoral degree in health and/or behavioral sciences or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated research productivity; the ability to conduct independent research with the promise of developing into an independent scholar.
  • Peer-reviewed publications.
  • Participation in relevant academic or professional meetings.
  • Strong local and growing national scholarly reputation based on research productivity and contributions over several years.
  • Potential evidence of extramural funding.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums. You will be expected to have solid interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, and a drive to excel are expected.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects is required.
