Description:
Applications are invited from qualified clinical psychologists for a post focusing on the assessment and treatment of patients with Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD). The successful applicant will join the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorder and Trauma on a project funded by the MRC and Oxford Health NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.
This randomised controlled trial, led by Dr Kirsten Smith and supported by Dr Jennifer Wild and Professor Anke Ehlers, will test Internet Cognitive Therapy for Prolonged Grief Disorder (iCT-PG), adapted from the internet cognitive therapy model for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This digital intervention targets the cognitive-behavioural mechanisms underlying the development and maintenance of PGD.
The position is offered part-time at 60% FTE (22.5 hours) for 12 months. This may be extended by an additional 12 months dependent on additional funding from the MRC.
The post-holder will assess and treat patients with PGD and work with the team to refine the programme content. Employment conditions include regular team meetings and supervision. Experience in conducting structured diagnostic interviews and treating patients with PTSD using cognitive therapy is required.
Due to the nature of this role, any offer of employment will be contingent on a satisfactory disclosure report from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Only applications received before 12.00 midday on 7th January 2025 will be considered. It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 15th January.
You will be required to upload a covering letter explaining how you meet the job requirements, as well as a CV and details of two referees as part of your online application.
The University of Oxford is committed to equality and valuing diversity. All applicants will be judged on merit, according to the selection criteria
