Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Performs routine compliance activities related to research compliance, including human subjects, animal care, conflict of interest and/or export control.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in job related field plus one year of related experience; OR a combination of related education and or experience equal to five years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in job related field.
- Research background/experience.
- Capable of handling several tasks/projects at a time and prioritizing responsibilities.
- Ability to work closely with other staff members on projects.
- Willingness to work in a supporting role and accept directions.
- Comfortable and able to work within an electronic environment.
- A demonstrated understanding of applicable federal and state regulations.
- Some IT system background of online submission software
Responsibilities:
- Remote work for this position is a potential option.
- Develops a working knowledge of current federal regulations, guidelines and trends influencing the conduct of human subject research. Applies that knowledge to serve as a resource for researchers and provide pre-review of all protocols prior to IRB reviewer assignment.
- Attends and contributes to IRB board meetings, HRPP staff meetings, and professional development conferences/trainings. Attain certification as Certified IRB Professional (CIP).
- Facilitates and navigates all user access, IRB submissions, pre-reviews, post approvals, withdrawals, and closures in Cayuse Ethics.
- Communicates with researchers on project submission status, expiration, renewals, deviations, and approvals.
- Serves as a liaison with compliance divisions and Office of Research Services on issues related to human subject research.
- Creates, maintains, and enters data into the electronic database/s for IRB reviews, submissions, communication, and outreach. Generates reports from the electronic database/s.
- Creates, maintains, and edits communication/educational documents that are sent out to researchers, students, community members, research participants, and IRB reviewers.
