THE ROLE
The role is within the Innovation Support sub-team of the University’s Research Contracts function. The successful applicant will support Contracts Managers to draft research and related contracts which balance risk with commercial and intellectual benefit, and within guidelines, to negotiate and approve the terms of the contracts with external funders and partners.
The objective is to provide academics with a sound and secure legal and commercial basis for their externally funded work. The role will involve work on research contracts with government and industry which has more of a ‘commercial’ flavour than classic collaborative research agreements.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Draft, negotiate and approve research and related contracts (including consultancy, sponsored studentships and collaboration agreements) and also non-financial confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements, using judgement within broad guidelines, as allocated by your line manager.
