Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Research Coordinator will work in a busy Hematology Outpatient Clinic, specializing in Oncology research studies. The successful candidate will report to Drs. Jenny Ho and Martha Louzada and assist the Research Coordinators.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clinical Trials Management diploma preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
  • 2-3 years of clinical research experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in computer applications and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in computerized data entry and filing/ upkeep of study files
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS:

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
  • Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated

Responsibilities:

  • Screening and recruitment of patients for inclusion in studies
  • Ensuring compliance of study protocols
  • Coordinating the day-to-day activities of a research project
  • Coordinating patient study visits
  • Data collection and entry
  • Maintenance of clinical trial documentation
  • Assisting with ethics submissions
    Rate of Pay: To commensurate with experience
    Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
    Duration of Contract: One year, with potential for renewal
