QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Current New Jersey licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in good standing required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Health Care Provider Certification or acquisition within 90 days of hire and maintenance of certification required.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to organize work and meet deadlines in a high volume practice while demonstrating a positive, professional manner.
  • Acts as a resource to clinical and medical staff, providing education to staff assuring protocol is understood and adhered to.
  • Assists Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator in preparing for surveys as needed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with medical team in explaining clinical trials to patients and ensures that informed consent is obtained, pre-study tests are completed and that patient eligibility is confirmed prior to enrollment.
  • Collaborates with physician to monitor patient response to treatment, grading toxicities and monitoring adverse events throughout protocol.
  • Confirms that source documents of study are documented in the patient s medical record, including all tests mandated by the trial. Ensuring that all tests required by protocol are done to protocol timeframes.
  • Ensures that all case forms completed appropriately.
  • Establishes and maintains clinical and regulatory files as required by agencies. Handles correspondence between NBIMC and granting agency
  • Monitors and reports patient accrual on a monthly basis.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement processes and identifies and implements potential corrective actions
  • Promotes the professional image of nursing through community activities (hospital committees, civic organizations, parish nursing, volunteerism, etc.).
  • Provides clear and concise patient/family education and provides documentation appropriately in the patient s medical record.
