REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in science, business, engineering or diploma in business administration, technology management/engineering technology. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience maybe considered
- Experience in conducting applied research and familiarity with research management systems
- Experience in writing proposal for securing grants from the public and private sectors
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, research and creative skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of constituents and organizations
- Demonstrated skill in the use of data collection and reporting systems and processes
- Knowledge of intellectual property

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Research Grants Manager, the Research Coordinator supports the applied research portfolio managed by the Office of Applied Research Services, within Research Partnerships & Innovation, including new and strategic applied research initiatives at the College. The incumbent supports grant proposal development in collaboration with research professionals and research center leaders, while ensuring eligibility requirements for partners are met. The Research Coordinator develops grant submission timelines, provide guidance on Equity Diversity and Inclusion, and Research Ethics Board protocols in consultation with the Research Grants Manager. Additionally, they coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of key research metrics, promote applied research activities, and support initiatives to engage students in applied research projects at the College.
The Research Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: review and edit grant proposals; collaborate with research teams and industry partners to identify the right grant to pursue to support applied research projects; support the collection of operational metrics; project management and oversight of short-term applied research projects; support initiatives to engage students on applied research activities; and assist in preparing project reports.
