JOB SUMMARY
The Kidney, Dialysis and Transplantation (KDT) program is seeking an experienced Epidemiologist to work collaboratively with our network of researchers and our staff, applying research methodology in the context of health services administrative data. Your work will draw from all of Ontario?s 18 billion health related records ? nearly a trillion data points. Moreover, you can take pride in your work and participate driving real-world change.
KDT operates out of London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Understanding of health services research concepts and knowledge of health administrative data and data holding at ICES

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, health services research, public health, biostatistics or a related field;
- Two plus years of experience in a health facility or health research environment, with similar involvement in identifying or working with administrative data sources, designing research studies, procuring data, preparing reports, and editing with scientific rigour.

Responsibilities:
- Independently developing, planning, leading and implementing study protocols, analytic plans and administrative elements under the direction of the principal investigator or scientist;
- Providing advice to staff, PIs, stakeholders and trainees on research feasibility, design, methodology, availability of ICES data and interpretation of findings;
- Leading development of comprehensive literature searches and/or reviews (includes mentorship);
- Interpreting and writing results for reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations and other deliverables in collaboration with the project team;
- Project management for the assigned workload, including facilitating communication between investigators, trainees and research staff, monitoring project timelines, scope, budget & deliverables;
- Assisting with the preparation of grant applications, including drafting grant proposals, preparing budgets and updating investigator CVs;
- Assisting with REB applications and data sharing agreements to link external data to administrative data holdings at ICES;
- Contributing to a body of knowledge around variable definitions, analytical approaches or limitations in our data and resolving data issues as they arise;
- Performing other duties as appropriate and necessary for the efficient functioning of the team;
- Continuing to maintain and expand professional skills
