Description:
Princeton NuEnergy ("PNE") is a lithium-ion battery direct recycling and critical materials recovery innovator, founded out of Princeton University. At its core, PNE’s patented recycling technology is based on a low-temperature plasma-assisted separation process (LPAS™) that does not damage but, rather, reclaims and repairs cathode material from spent lithium-ion batteries and manufacturing scrap at half the cost with significantly lower waste when compared with existing traditional recycling processes.
We are currently seeking a Co-op Research Engineer for a 4-month opportunity starting in mid-January 2025. This role will be based 100% onsite in Princeton, NJ. The primary objective is to support the PNE R&D Team with research projects and laboratory operations, including lab management, conducting scientific experiments, generating testing data, and developing reports and analyses. The Co-op Engineer will actively participate in experiments and testing while gaining valuable insights into lithium-ion battery recycling technology.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This is an on-site position in Princeton, NJ
- Able to work in the research lab environment and wear personal protective equipment including dust mask, respirator, safety shoes, gloves, and safety glasses/face shield
- Able to lift & carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity
The anticipated base pay for this position is $23 ~ $25.00 per hour.
