Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Research Executive or Senior Research Executive. The role – at either level – will involve working within a team to deliver qualitative and quantitative projects. This could involve, for example, focus groups to test creative ideas developed by an advertising agency; depth interviews to evaluate a museum exhibition; surveys to profile and understand consumer markets …and much, much more.

Daily tasks will be varied, spanning all areas of the research function. They will include, for example:

  • Designing discussion guides and questionnaires
  • Conducting depth interviews and running focus groups
  • Analysing and interpreting research findings – data and words
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations and reports for clients
  • Presenting research findings to clients
  • Project management activities, including liaising with fieldwork suppliers and our fieldwork team
  • Client management, tailored to level of experience
  • Business development activities and tender writing [specific to Senior Research Executive role]

The level of support and autonomous working will vary depending on the level of the role.
The role offers the scope for significant career development. The successful candidate will be exposed to all aspects of the business and will have the opportunity to work across all elements of project management and delivery.
We have a training budget, and would provide formal training opportunities via the Market Research Society / Association of Qualitative Research or other training providers as is deemed appropriate to the individual’s development.
The role will primarily be office based – working from our office in Newcastle City Centre. In a typical week, 1 day working from home is permitted.
Pay: Depending on role and experience:
Research Executive – from £22,500
Senior Research Executive – from £26,000

This is the ideal role if you are an excellent communicator but also confident with numbers. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter, but at the same time able to work confidently within a team. To be successful, you will also have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office apps, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to be flexible and juggle priorities
  • An eye for detail and focus on accuracy
  • An understanding of research methods
  • Knowledge of SPSS or SNAP Surveys software [although this isn’t essential]
  • Degree/postgraduate qualifie

To be considered for a Senior Research Executive role, you will also have:

  • At least 2 years professional market research experience, including project management, research design, execution and reporting.
  • Strong client management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Strong technical research skills, spanning both qualitative and quantitative methods, with the ability to manage and deliver all stages within a project life-cycle. This is to include
