ABOUT YOU

You will have a degree or equivalent professional experience, knowledge of grants and/or contracts, preferably within the education sector, with the ability to review and respond to complex written documentation, and a high level of numeracy and confidence in dealing with financial data. You will also have excellent communication and organisational skills and good attention to detail. You should have a flexible, collaborative, and proactive attitude to work.

Responsibilities:

We are looking to recruit a Research Facilitator to join our team in the School of Archaeology (SoA). The post holder will report directly to the Head of Administration and Finance (HAF).
The Research Facilitator is a key role at the School, overseeing the operation of the wide range of our research activity. Your primary responsibilities will be to manage all research funding proposals for the School as well as oversee the School’s post-award research activity. The successful candidate will work closely with the HAF, Head of School (HoS) and the Academic Research Facilitator, to advise and develop funding bids, and support the research contract process. You will also liaise with the University’s Research Services where needed and develop long term strategies to enable our academics to explore new projects.
The post holder will be responsible for helping to promote funding opportunities and should therefore have knowledge of the sector, research funding bodies, and experience of working co-operatively with peers and senior academics in connection with grant writing, or the facilitation and/or management of sponsored research projects.
