Description:
The School of Materials Science and has evolved into a hub of excellence in its niche areas of research. As part of NTU’s College of Engineering, MSE is now recognised worldwide as a premier research institution with top universities, multinational corporations and R&D institutions as its research collaborators and funding partners.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join us as Research Fellow (RF).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Theoretical Modeling and Simulation: Perform high-level DFT calculations to model catalytic reactions and material properties on various surfaces and in different environmental conditions.
2. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze computational data to identify key interaction mechanisms, reaction pathways, energy barriers, and material characteristics.
3. Collaborative Research: Work closely with experimental teams to correlate theoretical findings with experimental data, enhancing the understanding of catalytic and material behaviors.
4. Scientific Communication: Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at international conferences to advance the scientific community’s knowledge and application of DFT in catalysis and material science.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in bridging theoretical research and practical applications, driving innovations in catalytic science and material design that are essential for addressing global challenges in energy, the environment, and technology development.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Material Science, or a related field with a strong background in computational chemistry, specifically DFT calculations.
- Experience in modeling catalytic reactions and designing functional materials, along with familiarity with computational chemistry software packages, is required.
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data interpretation, and the ability to publish in high-impact journals are essential.
- Good communication skills and teamwork are crucial for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
