ABOUT US
The group of Prof Velliou is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, based at the Centre for 3D Models of Health and Disease, which has been working on cancer tissue engineering for more than a decade.
We have an exciting opportunity for a post-doctoral researcher to join the team to work on a multidisciplinary project for the development and full characterisation of peptide based pancreatic cancer models.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Role specific details :
- The post-holder’s primary research work will focus on (i) developing and characterising composite polyurethane-peptide scaffolds with cutting edge material fabrication/characterisation techniques (ii) using the developed scaffolds for the design and full biological characterisation of advanced multicellular models of pancreatic cancer (with advanced imaging as well as molecular biology techniques).
- This role is available from February 2025 for 24 months in the first instance. There is some flexibility on the starting date, following discussion with Prof Velliou.
- Research Fellows - ‘Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B (salary £ 38,357 - £41,005 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD Thesis.’
