Description:
The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is inviting applications for the position of Research Fellow. The Research Fellow will be mainly responsible for the metasurface design for the 6G URLLC, OAM backhaul and mMTC application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the advanced metasurface, RIS researches.
- Develop new communication methods based on new antennas, e.g., RIS-based new modulation, multiple access methods, backhaul, fronthaul, analog beamforming, etc.
- Research on new scenarios combined with communication and sensing technologies, e.g. Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), Simultaneously Transmitting And Reflecting (STAR) RIS, etc.
- Research on long-distance transmission using OAM beams, e.g. metasurface lens, RIS-assist transmission, low interference demodulation, etc.
- Develop experiment demos and testbed, outdoor experiments.
- Work with team members to ensure smooth integration of various subsystems.
- Document all processes and implementation.
- Manage tasks according to the project schedule.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Electromagnetic Theory and Electronic Engineering or another related field from a reputable university.
- Research background in communication or electromagnetic theory with strong publications in related fields.
- Good understanding and ability in mathematics.
- Proficient and good skills in Matlab, CST, HFSS or other simulation software.
- Excellent algorithm analysis and design capabilities in the field of signal processing, OR experienced in RF antenna design.
- Fluent English speaking and writing skills as required to publish research.
