The research programme will specifically focus on the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT signalling pathway and investigates the neuroprotective effect of a novel, UCL-developed compound utilising an in vivo Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO) stroke model to determine associated pathways involved in the PI3K/AKT pathway in stroke.
