ABOUT THE POST

To work closely with the Director of the Institute for Social Justice and Crime and colleagues in the development of the Research Institute which will be a centre of excellence bringing together local, regional, National, and international partners. To take an active role in the research and scholarly activity within the Research Institute and in supporting research in the wider University. To develop research objectives, undertake independent and collaborative research projects and evaluate outcomes. To manage research projects and to lead on implementing the research strategy within the Institute plan, coordinate and implement research programmes in accordance with University strategy, policy and procedures and funder requirements. The post holder will play a key role in building relationships to raise the research profile of the University of Suffolk.
The Institute for Social Justice and Crime is committed to addressing the social issues which act as barriers to justice with an emphasis on the experiences of vulnerable and marginalised groups. The institute has a strong reputation for expertise in the area of sexual violence and domestic abuse. We are seeking to expand the expertise and skills in our team and would particularly welcome suitable applicants with wider social justice interests in areas such as (but not limited to) poverty and deprivation, children’s rights, education and wellbeing, uniformed organisations, and policing.
