Description:

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly organised and proactive Research Grants and Finance Coordinator to join our University Information Services (UIS). This pivotal role will support the administration of research funding and financial operations, contributing to the success of our innovative projects.
UIS is centralised department within the University. We work collaboratively with colleagues in departments, colleges, and other institutions to provide a range of IT services to support the needs of all users at the University.
This is a new role that will be based within the Finance Team. The successful candidate will have a chance to shape the role within the team themselves. The Departments Research Computing Services (RCS) has started to accumulate more and more grant funding over the last couple of years, working with both internal departments as well as external institutes.
Research Computing Services (RCS) designs, deploys and maintains some of the world’s most high performance computational and data storage systems. We offer advanced, secure and scalable digital research infrastructure for the University, the wider UK academic community and select commercial partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the application process for research grants, ensuring compliance with funding body requirements.
  • Oversee the financial administration of grants, including budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with researchers and administrative staff to provide guidance on grant management and financial policies.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of training and resources related to grant applications and financial management.
