Description:

Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity in grant management? Are you keen to be part of something unique and remarkable? Then this is the role for you.
The Nuffield Department of Medicine and the Department of Paediatrics are embarking on a novel approach to grant management support. We are seeking to appoint a Research Grants Manager, a key role for both departments, that will join the NDM Grant Management Team but will provide an outstanding professional service to manage the cradle-to-grave process of a portfolio of research grants for the Department of Paediatrics. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside researchers at the leading edge of science in two of the most successful medical sciences departments at Oxford.
You will report to the NDM Head of Grant Management (HoGM) or Deputy Head of Grant Management (DHoGM), but you will manage an assigned portfolio of Paediatrics research projects, ensuring that the needs of the academics and professional services, and the requirements of research funders, are met. You will benefit from being in an environment of specialists, supporting your own growth and development, with an opportunity to effect changes to processes which will ensure delivery of consistent, high quality, professional project support in research grant management.
It is essential that you are educated to degree level or equivalent together with related experience ideally in the higher education sector or research environment. You will have a working knowledge of the major funding bodies, and of current issues affecting the research funding sector. You will have demonstrable skills in effective people management and the ability to support, develop and motivate staff. Additionally, you will have excellent numeracy skills, a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail. Prior experience of Oracle Financials software or other financial software is desirable.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.
