Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team with two other Research Impact Officers within the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) team in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. Research Impact Officers work alongside the Associate Deans for Research and Innovation and School/Divisional Impact Leads to help develop, plan and implement impact strategies, taking forward projects and/or programmes of work that deliver significant benefits to society, public policy and professional services, the economy, health, medical and life sciences sectors.
The post-holder will establish strong working relationships with academic, research and professional services colleagues to help communicate the impact of research, generate and collate the necessary evidence, and share best practice in this area. A feature of the role will be to coordinate mechanisms to record, review and evaluate impact activities, including within the context of a positive research culture. Preparation for internal or external research impact assessment (e.g. REF) will be a key part of this role, working closely with academic colleagues.
The post holder will be a proactive, highly skilled, organised and motivated individual with significant experience of working within a Higher Education Institution or similar organisational environment and a track-record in supporting academic research and identifying, demonstrating and recognising impact. The post holder will be committed to enabling the development of a positive and inclusive research culture.
The post holder will report to the Research Excellence and Impact Manager.
