Description:

NOSM University is founded upon the vision — “Innovative Education and Research for a Healthier North.” This vision requires that the university be accountable not only to its funders but also to the people of Northern Ontario. A key part of this accountability mandate lies in applied and translational research that helps to measure the impact of NOSM U as an educational and research institution for fostering upstream transformation in Northern Ontario. To advance its mandate, NOSM University established the Dr. Gilles Arcand Centre for Health Equity, a multidisciplinary research Centre dedicated to helping build a skilled workforce who have the skills to provide evaluative and data analytic support, assess educational and health system interventions, translate research to inform leaders and policy makers, and contribute to building a socially accountable learning health system in Northern Ontario.
The successful Education intern will work with Arcand Centre scientists and community partners on priority education research projects that aim to better understand how health and education systems are working together to drive change. The research intern will play a critical role in helping to advance research activities within the CFSA related to francophone and rural education. As part of the internship, the successful candidate will receive high quality research training in diverse methodologies and methods, work with regional and provincial research teams, contribute to Centre events, and gain experience with knowledge translation. The intern will be supervised by Drs. Erin Cameron and will benefit from the training and expertise of all members of the Centre collaborative team.
