JOB SUMMARY

Administrative and financial management of clinic trials for the Georgia Cancer Center’s Clinical Trials Office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. from an accredited college or university with a minimum of one year directly applicable experience; previous supervisory experience.
OR
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of five years’ progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience; or major coursework completed on a Ph.D. in a related scientific field with two years of progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience; previous supervisory experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of eight years progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience; previous supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency with computers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage pre-award financial activities associated with oncology industry and investigator initiated clinical research trials.
  • Review contractual agreements with industry sponsors in conjunction with Augusta University departments to ensure language is in congruency with institutional guidelines.
  • Review clinical trial documents to conduct coverage analysis in OnCore while analyzing Medicare benefit policies congruent with medical practice guidelines related to study specific interventions.
  • Communicate regularly with industry sponsors/CRO, Principal Investigator, research team, the Division of Sponsored Program Administration, OnCore office and other internal as well as external entities involved in budget and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct reviews of amended protocols submitting OnCore calendar changes if necessary and route amended contracts for review.
  • Attending regularly scheduled departmental and institutional meetings as required.
  • Provide training to clinical research staff on study billing grid in Oncore as needed. Assist the post award accountants with training as needed.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
