Description:
Applications are open for an experienced Midwife (C linical research practitioner (CRP)) to jo in our research team.
For the purposes of brevity the term CRP is used to represent all health professionals working in a patient facing role in clinical research includ ing nurses, midwives, AHPs , scientists and clinical research practitioners on the relevant AHSC register. However, for this post applications will only be considered from Registered Midwives due to the current needs of the service.
The successful candidate will have experience of working as a Midwife in either an in-patient or out-patient setting. You will predominantly work on the maternity and neonatal portfolios, however may be required to work flexibly across specialties dependent on service needs . Previous research experience is desirable but not essential for this post as full research training will be provided You will be working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to support and deliver research projects relevant to our local population. You will be required to work autonomously and will also be responsible for identifying new research opportunities, coordinating and managing a number of clinical trials.
As this is a part time post secondments will be considered up to a maximum of 2 years in line with Trust policy.

In addition to assisting clinicians and other members of the research team, you will support research patients throughout the research process ensuring the well-being and safety of patients at all times. You will perform study related procedures, including participant assessment, informed consent, clinical examinations and reporting adverse events. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability and initiative to work independently and manage a patient caseload across a variety of trials & studies. You will be required to prioritise your own workload and be responsible for the management of a caseload of clinical trial patients.
The post holder will also be required to work on other research studies across other specialities depending on portfolio requirements.
