Description:
The post holder will learn a range of skills related to research and undertake substantive pieces of research work. This role involves but not limited to, gathering data on patients in the studies within the department.
To provide skilled nursing care to ensure the safe and efficient running of research studies within the facility. This post may involve shift patterns, including occasional internal rotation onto night duty to ensure 24 hour cover (including bank holidays).
To take an active part in departmental meetings e.g. contribute to discussion, take on the role of Chair, contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures and support functioning of department
- To be aware of own Health and Safety responsibilities including contributing to the infection control and cleanliness of the department and hospital by ensuring cleanliness of own equipment, undertaking mandatory training, abiding by the hand washing policy and other policies related to Barrier nursing.
- You have a general duty of care for the health, safety and well being of yourself, work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital, in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with this post.
- To observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of King’s College Hospital NHS Trust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations.
- To observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff.
- To be responsible, with management support, for your own personal development and to actively contribute to the development of colleagues.

You will be accountable for your own professional actions, and be a lead specialist for defined area acting within clearly defined policies/procedures and codes of conduct including the NMC code and Trust policy.
- To observe the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations.
- To work within the NMC Scope of Professional Practice and Code of Conduct.
- To manage clinical risk within own clinical caseload, to have up to date knowledge of indications, contraindications and precautions for any treatment skills and techniques selected and applied throughout an individual course of treatment.
- To attend multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds and undertake home visits as required. Ensure that the physiotherapy management of a patient is integrated into the multidisciplinary management and treatment plans for patients.
- To maintain comprehensive, accurate and timely patient notes and records in accordance with department policy, and to ensure safekeeping and confidentiality of those records
