Description:
The NCRF Infrastructure sits within Newcastle University and encompasses the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at our Royal Victoria Infirmary site, the Clinical Ageing Research Unit (CARU) at our CAV site, the Dental CRF in our Dental Hospital and the Pediatric CRF which is co-located within our RVI site. We operate mainly as an outpatient facility with patients usually attending between Monday and Friday although occasional evening and weekend working is required as studies dictate. The CRF specialises in early phase clinical trials as well as supporting complex later phase studies. We often support international trials and due to the nature of early phase research we are working with new and groundbreaking therapies, in specialty areas such as respiratory, rheumatology, mitochondrial research, and gene therapy.
This role requires an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills, effective time management, basic IT skills, knowledge of data collection systems and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The successful candidate will work as an integral member of the CRF research delivery team to provide clinical care to study participants and their families who are participating in research. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse who wishes to develop clinical research skills. To participate in the creation and maintenance of a high-quality clinical research environment. To initiate and manage nursing activities related to academic studies and clinical trials, from initiation to termination, according to ICH good clinical practice guidelines.
Supervise junior members of the team. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you
