Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our diverse portfolio includes:
- Observational studies
- Clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs)
- Medical device trials
Research areas include a range of respiratory conditions like lung cancer, pleural diseases, long COVID, sarcoidosis, COPD, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, and respiratory sleep and breathing disorders.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of allocated respiratory trials and main responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and providing care for trial participants
- Collecting and processing biological samples
- Gathering and managing trial data
You will take part in all aspects of respiratory care and trial assessments, including spirometry, phlebotomy, ECGs, observations and history taking.
You will be responsible for the planning and day-to-day management of assigned respiratory studies. Essential qualities and skills include:
- NMC Registered Adult Nurse
- Have excellent record keeping skills and maintain files and notes accurately.
- Educate patients about medication use and diary completion
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and trial monitors to ensure recruitment and follow-up according to trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice.
- Work closely with other research nurses and practitioners in the delivery team to ensure optimal care and support for trial participants in our research portfolio.
- Participate in team meetings and attend relevant training sessions and investigator meetings, which may require travel
