Description:
The Program for the Neurobiology of Stress Response and Suicide aims to explore the underlying mechanisms of stress-related disorders and suicidal behavior, fostering innovative approaches to prevention and treatment. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Principal to support our ongoing studies. This role involves coordinating research activities, managing data collection, and facilitating communication among team members and external collaborators. Provide advanced level research and/or clinical and administrative support to the study. Mentor, train, & assist with supervising junior research staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced level research and/or clinical and administrative support for the research study.
- Mentor, train, and assist with supervising junior research staff as needed.
- Coordinate day-to-day research activities, ensuring adherence to study protocols.
- Recruit and screen participants for research studies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including study protocols, consent forms, and progress reports.
- Maintain compliance with ethical guidelines and institutional policies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to research design and implementation discussions.
- Masters degree required preferably in psychology, neuroscience, counseling, sociology, or related research field.
- Minimum of two years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Working knowledge of research methodology required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with IRB (PittPRO) and purchasing (ePRO, Panther Express) are preferred.
- Clinical interviewing (e.g., SCID, K-SADS), suicide risk assessment/risk management, and phlebotomy skills are a plus.
