Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Research Program Manager (RPM) at OpenAI, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating research and development efforts across various teams. You will be responsible for streamlining workflows, accelerating research discoveries, and managing the integration of new advancements into ongoing projects. This role requires strong program management skills, deep technical understanding, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet ambitious deadlines and drive impactful results.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Manage large-scale research programs, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Drive collaboration between research teams, aligning efforts across different AI initiatives, including model development, data campaigns, and product-aligned research.
  • Coordinate the development and integration of AI models and new technologies into research programs and product roadmaps.
  • Create and execute compute roadmaps to allocate resources effectively and identify new opportunities for research discovery.
  • Act as the communication bridge between researchers, engineers, and product teams to ensure smooth and rapid execution of research initiatives.
