20FIFTY Partners is a mission-led organisation that has been driving awareness and action on the climate and sustainability agenda for the past twenty years through research and education. We have worked closely with national agencies and 1000’s of businesses in developing and implementing sustainability initiatives within Ireland, the UK and across Europe.
We have a successful track record in delivering national and internationally funded research projects in Industrial Water Stewardship, Climate Action and Circularity, delivering industry led applied research with a focus on practical evidence-based impact in association with our Communities of Practice.
Role Overview
Building on the recent success in acquiring international and national research funding (Horizon Europe, UK Market Improvement Fund and EPA), the 20FIFTY Partners Research unit are now looking to recruit a Research Projects Co-ordinator to support the delivery of the team’s research project portfolio across Climate Action, Sustainability, Circularity and Water Stewardship. The successful candidate will be based in our Limerick office full-time.
This role will ensure the successful delivery of key research deliverables and milestones across the project portfolio, support communication, dissemination and exploitation activities and engage with our Communities of Practice to deliver knowledge transfer to key audiences. In addition, the Research Projects Co-ordinator will manage relationships with various funding bodies and project consortiums to ensure projects are delivered in line with relevant funding requirements. The role will have operational responsibilities including financial management, operations, reporting, intellectual property and managing relationships with project partners and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a background in research management, dissemination and exploitation strategies. They will have a strong background in project portfolio management. In addition, a background in research and / or qualifications in an environmental science or engineering domain would be beneficial to the role.
Main Responsibilities
The role-holder will project manage several large programmes of research concurrently, with responsibility for both strategic oversight and the day-to-day running of the projects, including but not limited to
To lead on / contribute to key national and internationally funded research projects in sustainability
To represent the organisation in our national and international working groups and networks
Support PI in conducting horizon scanning on research opportunities and engagement opportunities with existing and emerging research consortiums
Develop and implement project exploitation and dissemination strategies in collaboration with relevant project partners
Prepare the non-scientific elements of funding reports and be responsible for ensuring their accuracy and timely submission
Be responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of project launch, consortia meetings etc. and other events as when necessary
Actively develop appropriate external contacts and networks relevant to future collaboration and funding opportunities including with academic institutions and research bodies
Provide direct project management support to the project managers and assist project partners on project activities
Be the point of contact for all project operational activity including partner management/technical teams and external stakeholders
Operational management of project budgets and assigned resources allocations
Lead Principal Investigators through the administration of account set up and close out
Support in development of robust systems, processes and tools for Research management
To lead relevant meetings associated with the research project or related activities
To take responsibility for resolving problems affecting the delivery of research projects
To support the planning and implementing of future research projects
To lead and / or support bids for major research projects

Key Qualifications and Skills
A degree or higher in a relevant discipline
A recognised qualification in Programme / Project Management

5 years experience in either delivering or managing funded research projects
Experience in leading research communication and dissemination activities
Horizon Europe project experience desirable
