JOB SUMMARY
The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) seeks applicants for a Research Scientist Associate/KTC. Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The Center performs research in several areas for local, state, and federal transportation agencies. Research foci include:
- highway design
- project management
- pavement design and maintenance
- infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis
- construction management
- highway and infrastructure safety
- structural engineering and preservation
- intelligent transportation systems
- economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation
- traffic operations
- environmental analysis
The Research Scientist Associate is tasked with:
- conducting literature reviews and summaries
- leading data collection and analysis
- assisting senior research staff to develop innovative solutions and/or technologies to support KTC’s mission
- preparing technical reports and grant proposals
- presenting research results to government agencies, industry partners, and at professional conferences
Additionally, this position will maintain and oversee project-related data. Will engage in professional development activities – such as attending meetings or conferences pertaining to their research area. The Research Scientist Associate is expected to help build lasting partnerships with our clients, transportation organizations, and agencies. Students graduating in the Fall of 2024 or Spring of 2025 are encouraged to apply.
